QRCode++ Privacy Policy
In short: QRCode++ has no account and no ads, and it does not track you. Your vCard, Wi-Fi, phone and other QR codes stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. Your location is used only for the “Where Am I?” screen.
Information that stays on your device
- Your vCard details, card designs and photos, Wi-Fi networks and passwords, phone numbers, links and text are stored on your iPhone.
- If you use iCloud Backup/Restore, copies are saved in your own iCloud account. The developer cannot see them.
- A QR code contains only what you put in it, and it is shared only when you show or send it.
- Widgets read your vCard and card picture from your iPhone.
Permissions
- Contacts (optional): to fill in your vCard from an existing contact. Contacts are read on your iPhone only.
- Camera and Photos (optional): to take or choose a photo for your card, and to save QR code images to your photo library.
- Location (optional): for the “Where Am I?” screen.
Information sent to other services
| What | Sent to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your location, only when you use “Where Am I?” | OpenWeather, GeoNames, sunrisesunset.io | Weather, UV index, air quality, place details, sunrise and sunset |
| App Check token (proves the request comes from the real app) | Google Firebase | Protection against abuse |
QRCode++ also reads the daily tip and quote from the developer's Firebase database. It does not upload your data there.
What QRCode++ does not do
- No account or sign-in.
- No advertising and no ad tracking.
- No selling or sharing of personal information.
Your choices
- Contacts, camera, photos and location are each optional and can be turned off in iOS Settings.
- Deleting the app deletes its data on your iPhone; iCloud backups can be deleted in iOS Settings › your name › iCloud.
Children
QRCode++ is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.
